Who these sessions are for

Your child may benefit from support with:

  • Staying engaged with activities and developing concentration.
  • Feeling more confident when approaching something unfamiliar.
  • Building independence in learning and everyday tasks.
  • Developing phonics, reading, writing or maths.
  • Expressing needs and working through frustration.
  • Exploring their interests through purposeful, hands-on learning.

You don't need to arrive with a precise learning goal. Our initial conversation helps us identify what matters to your family and where we might begin.

How I work

I observe before I plan

I pay attention to what your child chooses, what holds their interest, how they respond to difficulty and when they seek help. These observations guide our work.

I prepare activities with purpose

Each visit is planned around your child's needs and interests, with room to adapt as the session unfolds. Activities offer opportunities to explore, repeat and practise.

I build a relationship with your child

Feeling comfortable with the person supporting them matters. I take time to establish trust and learn how best to encourage your child.

I involve you

Your observations help me understand your child more fully. In turn, I share what I notice and suggest manageable ways to support their development at home.

What we may work on

The emphasis will be different for every child.

Concentration and engagement

We create opportunities for your child to become absorbed in an activity, follow a sequence, solve a problem and return to something they want to master.

Confidence and independence

I encourage your child to make choices, attempt tasks and recognise their own growing abilities, offering support when needed.

Language, literacy and maths

Depending on their developmental stage, activities may explore sounds, vocabulary, phonics, reading, writing, counting, quantities and number relationships.

Social and emotional development

Our work may include recognising and expressing feelings, communicating needs, taking turns and practising ways to respond when something feels difficult.

What happens during a visit?

Each home visit lasts 90 minutes.

Typically, around one hour is spent working directly with your child. The visit also includes time for parent observation, discussion and feedback.

For younger children, parent involvement may be a larger part of the experience. Activities, movement and transitions are adapted to your child's needs.

Before I leave, we discuss what I have observed and practical ideas you can use between visits.

Patient, engaging and skilled
"Beatrice helped my 8 year old daughter who was a little behind in reading and spelling as a result of re-locating from abroad and starting her learning experience in another language. Beatrice was a kind, patient, engaging and skilled and my daughter has now caught up with her peers. Beatrice was also a delightful person to have around! Highly recommend."

Student development is optimal and most of all enjoyable
"Miss Favalli is a special teacher. She has an intuition which allows for a deep connection with the student. She uses her extensive experience of Montessori and tailors it to ensure that the student's development is optimal and most of all enjoyable. In short, our child loved her, asked for her more, and learned at the same time. What more could one ask for!"
